PalmSens
Description
'PalmSens, from laboratory environment to industrial and medical applications'
Electrochemistry, sensors, point-of-care, micro-electronics; these are not necessarily terms you think of when studying Industrial Design. Yet this is the path Niels van Velzen took after completing his IO studies in Delft. How can an Industrial Designer distinguish himself in an environment where devices originally look like a box with buttons and where the customer is used to measuring the quality of a measuring instrument by its size and weight? The company PalmSens that he has been running since 2012, together with his brother, is slowly moving out of a laboratory environment into industrial and medical applications. At this lecture, he will talk about how IO is making a difference in this.
