Patent on industrial designs: no art to it!

Should industrial designs be counted under art? Or on the contrary, is there no art to it? Can you patent it? Big deal, because why should you? Your competitor changes a screw on your design and works around it in no time.
Can you actually put it all in such black and white terms?
Bram van Oeffelt studied electrical engineering in Delft and after completing that supernerd course he was inclined to think so. But one legal professional training to become a patent attorney later, he knew that there are as many as 50 shades of grey to be discovered in the answers to these questions. Fear not, he is not going to set them all out. But then again, he cannot guarantee that the evening will be completely without legal wrangling. One thing is certain: a number of design gems will pass in review!
This event will take place ON LOCATION AND ONLINE on Wednesday 6 March 2024. This meeting will be held at restaurant Se7en (Mariaplaats 7 in Utrecht), from 18.00h - 21.00h.
