What makes girls the otters of public space?

And did you know that 44% of Dutch women sometimes feel unsafe in public?

Designer and researcher Eva James shows that the world is imperceptibly designed for the (white) male body - so too is our not-so-neutral public space. She explains the effect this is having and why it's time to take another look.

Eva works as a research designer and teaches social experience design and placemaking. With her background in communication, design and architecture, she views the world with an inclusive & empathetic gaze. For her, the needs of target audience and stakeholders are at the forefront of every project.

In this lecture, she talks about her design projects and the methods and toolkit she developed for inclusive design.
