
Knowledge development on designing Ultra Personalised Products & Services Call for Proposals open until 31 December 2021.
Fieldlab UPPS invites design-driven SMEs and creative professionals to submit project proposals around designing Ultra Personalised Products & Services. In this third Call, a number of projects will again be honoured. For these projects, 50% matching funding is available from CLICKNL. The contribution of the company or creative professional is at least 50% of the project size in cash or hours.
3D data has brought a rich source of information for designing well-fitting products much closer. The resulting opportunities are far from being exploited. The design approach for UPPS is still in its infancy. Fieldlab UPPS tackles UPPS design challenges based on practical issues and shares the results at one of our Meet UPPS events.
Fieldlab UPPS offers expert support around designing UPPS. And can experiment with facilities such as 3D/4D scanners, and printers. The location is TU Delft.
Creative professionals and design-driven SMEs are invited to submit project plans for collaboration, within the fields of health, sports, safety & fashion.

Cross-compliance applications:
- Deadline: the call is open from 15 May to 31 December 2021
- A maximum of 1 assignment per company will be honoured
- Generic results (approach, outcome, UPPS knowledge) will be shared via the Fieldlab (e.g. during a Meet UPPS).
- For an official application, a fully completed project proposal should be emailed to m.k.idema@tudelft.nl.
- Required private matching is at least 50%.
- The available matching funding budget is max €20,000 including VAT. Eligible for matching are private contributions (cash or in kind) and contributions from ANBIs.
- The budget can be spent on a new project, or to improve an existing UPPS project
- Reporting: participants commit to reporting project results and presenting results in meet UPPS (1-2 times) organised by Fieldlab UPPS
- After approval of your proposal, a cooperation agreement should be signed with TU Delft before the project starts. This sets out how the IP will be handled. If the company wishes to use the results for commercial purposes, a market-based price will be agreed for transfer of the IP minus the pre-investment.
Selection
The selection of the proposals will take place in order of receipt within the FieldLab UPPS team.
Advice
From the FieldLab we will give advice on the application such as questions about partner search, budget, feasibility, etc. (max 2-3 hours). (max 2-3 hours).
