Biogas from maize straw
Description
Willem Jan Oosterkamp is currently optimising a biogas plant for maize stalks and other crops, aimed at application in rural areas in developing countries. To arrive at a good design, he has asked engineers without borders to advise on the required concrete thickness and reinforcement. On this evening, he will explain his design and outline the background to his idea for the biogas plant. In the process, he will discuss the development of a biogas plant for manure and water hyacinth in Bangladesh over the past decade.
