The Mangoplan in The Gambia
Description
Fred van Hessen gives a lecture on his experience with "The Mangoplan" in The Gambia. The aim of the project is to dry mangoes in order to be able to sell them out of season and export them to, for example, the EU. During the lecture, Fred will explain about the project and his experiences. The short video documentary "No Problem in the Gambia" by Ellen Breugem and Fred van Hessen on the conditions in the Gambia will also be shown. We hope that during this evening some of you will be able to give good advice for further development. Or be able to free up time to help Fred further develop the Hybrid Solar Dryer.
The Hybrid Solar Dryer should significantly improve the quality of dried fruit by also drying fruit at night. However, for its development, it still needs help.
The help sought mainly concerns the technical composition of the HSD, the alignment of its main components. So it is mainly about two things:
1. Calculating/determining/choosing the necessary specifications of the main components.
2. Searching, finding, comparing and matching those parts, e.g. heat exchangers, a paternoster mechanism, drying drums, fans, drives, etc. This also involves the question of whether some parts (now or later) can be produced in-house, in NL or in W Africa.
