Announcement: Symposium (Re)Inventing the Delta and New Year reception

The Netherlands is a delta. The climate is changing, sea levels are rising and will continue to rise. The potential consequences of climate change and high and accelerated sea level rise for the management of the Dutch delta are great. Are our current spatial planning and water management strategies still tenable in the future, or are adjustments necessary? And what adaptations are these? How do we keep the Netherlands safe, liveable and future-proof? What will the Netherlands look like in 100 years? These questions form the theme of (Re)Inventing the Delta.

Students Built Environment of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam incorporate Deltares' storylines (move along or protect) in their case study of the Havenkwartier in Amsterdam. They are doing this on behalf of Deltares, Waternet, the City of Amsterdam and Rijkswaterstaat. The results will be presented during the symposium.

The exact details of the symposium will follow.
