Description
The Land Registry has a unique treasure trove of data on 'land use'. It is data on the ownership and use status of (un)movable property. This includes property boundaries, purchase value and public rights 'established' by the government that influence - change of - land use.
The Land Registry has the legal task of registering said information. A large part of this information can be used by anyone against payment.
The Land Registry encourages society to use this 'wealth of land-use-related information' more often and at an earlier stage of the planning process for the performance of government tasks. This way, deployment in the initial phase quickly makes clear what the practical bandwidth is for realising a proposed spatial change; for example, the design of a water storage facility, the improvement of a flood defence or the redesign of a stream valley.
