We are pleased to invite you to the Annual General Meeting of Members on Tuesday 17 November at the Meander Medical Centre in Amersfoort.

You are welcome from 17.30 for a reception with coffee and a sandwich. The meeting will start with a short General Members' Meeting.
Afterwards, there will be an interesting presentation by dr.ir. Paul Breedveld, Biomedical Engineering TU Delft, entitled "Biologically inspired medical technology".

For many years, nature has been a creative source of inspiration to develop new, surprising technology. This prethought addresses a new application area of biologically inspired technology, mimicking the muscle structure of squid tentacles to make extremely thin and inexpensive steerable medical instruments. Ingenious prototypes are shown for a variety of applications ranging from abdominal surgery to catheter interventions. Some steerable instruments are currently being commercialised.
