Online meeting Medtech and Life Sciences
On Thursday 30 March 2023 from 15:30 to 17:30, the Medical Technology Department, in collaboration with the KIVI Bureau, is organising a digital session on the further development of the Medical Technology Department towards broader networking and knowledge sharing within KIVI and within the life sciences and health sector.
Increasingly, engineers are facing large complex issues where collaboration with other disciplines is indispensable to reach solutions. At the interfaces of sectors and technologies lie perhaps the most interesting opportunities. Think, for example, of the opportunities for integration of medical technology with smart phones and ICT, or crossovers within the broader life sciences & health sector with biotech and pharmatech.
Within KIVI, 226 engineers are affiliated with the Medical Technology department. There is also interest in medical technology and relevant knowledge within other departments (electrical, telecom and more). There are shared activities but networking remains limited. Across all disciplines, KIVI has more than 13,000 members. By not connecting, we are missing opportunities.
Outside KIVI, it is mainly the adjacent life science & health sectors that offer opportunities for knowledge sharing that are currently not being exploited.
During the session, we will explore what opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing currently exist within KIVI and the life sciences & health sector and what the preconditions are for doing so successfully. Will we make better use of these opportunities if we grow into a broader department of Medtech and the Life Sciences & Health sector?
You can register via the KIVI website. The link for participation will be sent via email.
