Description

Engineers can contribute to solving today's problems in healthcare. With this in mind, the Biomedical Engineering Department of the Royal Institute of Engineers KIVI NIRIA is pleased to invite you to this meeting.

The meeting promises to be an important debate on the role of engineering in healthcare. Technicians, care workers and administrators as well as politicians will contribute to the discussion.

BACKGROUND
The share and importance of technology in the care sector are increasing. With increasing complexity, proper allocation of responsibilities is becoming increasingly important. The application of technology is an important success factor in relation to better patient care and patient safety. Healthcare institution organisations do not yet always appreciate this success factor. For example, healthcare institutions could better invest and manage medical equipment risk management rather than depreciation periods alone.

NEW INITIATIVES
KIVI NIRIA supports the purposeful cooperation of technicians among themselves but also sees an important improvement in closer cooperation between technicians and healthcare professionals. The debate on 19 June will give the professional groups of technicians and healthcare medics the opportunity to express their intentions for this cooperation in the presence of key decision-makers. Among other things, the debate will discuss the Order of Medical Specialists' Guideline "Medical Specialist Responsibility in Maintenance and Management of Medical Equipment" and technicians' joint response to it. This is an ideal time to announce new initiatives
