Description

The lecture will be provided by Hoekman Shipbuilding of Urk and Padmos of Stellendam.
Together they have designed and built a high-profile, low-energy and innovative fishing vessel, and have become the winners of the "Ship of the Year award 2016".

The MDV-1 'Immanuel' is attracting a lot of attention at home and abroad, and is the first ship in the Dutch fishery's intended transition to a demonstrably better ecologically and economically sustainable flatfish fishery.

How did this ship come into being and what innovations were applied on board ? How is it now working in practice and is there already a sequel?

All these questions will be dealt with and explained during the lecture.
