On Thursday 12 February 2026, UNFC will organise the UNFC Symposium & Business Market at the Floating Pavilion in Rotterdam. This annual event, organised by UNFC, the student association of Maritime Engineering in Rotterdam, brings together the maritime sector with more than 100 motivated students. The symposium is dedicated to knowledge sharing, inspiration and strengthening the connection between students and the business community.

UNFC organises a symposium with a theme of its own choosing every year. The previous editions were a great success, which led the programme to express its confidence in UNFC's students to organise this event. Therefore, the accreditation of the Maritime Engineering course will take place during the symposium. This accreditation is an official quality assessment of education, looking at student engagement and cooperation with the field, among other things.

This year's theme is "Sail your own course". This theme gives speakers the freedom to explain how they steer their organisation towards the future and which choices are central to this. The symposium will also feature three substantive lectures by companies from the maritime sector.

In addition to the substantive programme, there will be an extensive business market, where between 20 and 25 maritime companies are expected to be present. Here, students will have the opportunity to network, find out about internships and graduation projects and get in touch with future employers. For companies, this is an excellent opportunity to be visible to the next generation of maritime professionals and present their organisation.

The symposium will end with an informal networking reception, where students, companies and speakers can meet in a relaxed setting and conclude the day together.

UNFC is still looking for companies from the maritime sector that would like to participate in the symposium and the business market. Interested in participating, having a stand or more information? Feel free to contact us at voorzitter@unfc.nl.
