Description

Schelde Marinebouw has been commissioned to build four corvettes for the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL). The corvettes' mission is "maritime search and patrol" operations in Indonesian territorial waters and Exclusive Economic Zone (EZZ).

The corvettes are designed according to the unique and successful Schelde SIGMA concept for a series of ship sizes. This concept applies modularity, standardisation and systemisation in several areas, leading to greater configuration flexibility and reduced production costs.

The 91-metre-long corvettes have a helicopter deck and are equipped with a modern integrated system of sensors, weapons, controls and communications. The vessels are further equipped with spacious accommodation for an 80-strong crew, and diesel propulsion with two propellers and are built in accordance with Lloyds Register Classification combined with military qualities.

The first two corvettes have been delivered with particularly good results in terms of project and technical performance.

The presentation with a lot of photo and video material covers concept, design, engineering, construction and trial run of the SIGMA Class Corvettes.
