Description

Aart-Jan de Graaf is involved in design, development and turn-into-production of automatic guided vehicle systems for various applications during the last 20 years. This has given him the opportunity to reflect on growing safety awareness throughout the system life-cycle. Starting with the simple safety concept that was common in industrial logistics we had to move from fail-safe towards fail-operational strategies. Examples will be presented how requirements are being developed and architecture has to be revised forced by increasingly demanding applications.
