About the department

Pivot in technology

As a mechanical engineer, you are at the heart of engineering. You deliver products in which you often combine several disciplines and fields. Through structured problem solutions, you make an essential contribution to the quality of our society. The KIVI Department of Mechanical Engineering makes a strong case for a high social appreciation of your discipline. But Mechanical Engineering does more. The department also aims to support the individual engineer in his or her professional practice with lectures, company visits, presentations, workshops and training courses.

Communications

Mechanical Engineering is part of a network of parties that matter within and outside our profession, such as industry, training and knowledge institutes, study associations and government and semi-government. Relevant information is provided by the department(s) members, flagged up and communicated to members via an e-mail newsletter from KIVI and/or the department.

Knowledge network

Mechanical Engineering offers you an interesting meeting place to get in touch with other members and with experts in the field. Our department organises various activities: mostly lectures and company visits and sometimes symposiums.

Students

The department focuses on engineers with a mechanical engineering background or interest. Not only graduates find accommodation in our department. The offer is also interesting for students. By participating in activities, you can meet companies and engineers.

In addition, the department organises an annual graduation prize. Where possible, the department also supports mechanical engineering student associations in organising activities/study trips.
