Description

Rens van Putten started working on his idea in January 2012: building a machine that makes it possible to deploy vehicles, without special modifications, on the railways. A relatively cheap and practical solution for a large group of railway users.

Rail Engineering Systems (R.EN.S) was founded in April 2012. With knowledge and expertise gained at the former UCA in Antwerp, as well as with the deployment of AMT Machinebouw, a prototype was built. After extensive testing and improvement, the prototype grew into a market-worthy product.

The tRENSformer is adjustable in length and can be combined with various street vehicles. The drive of the street vehicle is transferred to the rail wheels of the tRENSformer, creating a rail vehicle. Applications are particularly found in track maintenance or construction. With drive, the tRENSformer can form a locomotive, making shunting work also possible.

R.EN.S provides solutions to customers with special requirements for equipment on the track. Products are purchased by customers all over Europe.
March 2013, the tRENSformer was awarded the 2nd prize for Innovation at the Railtech fair in Amersfoort
