Description

Visiting an amusement park, besides relaxation, often means wanting to experience the "thrill" of extreme attractions. High speeds, extreme acceleration, free falls, all things that can raise your adrenaline levels quite a bit. At Walibi World amusement park, you can experience all this in the rollercoasters.
What you don't always realise as a visitor is all the technology involved to allow the public to experience these sensations. And which safety requirements need to be imposed on both the technical installations and the operational management to ensure that everyone can go home happy and healthy.
Despite all the measures taken, accidents still sometimes happen.

Ton Merkx is Walibi World's technical manager and will show what is involved in guaranteeing safety there.
During a guided tour, he will give an impression of the installations behind the "thrill" and which techniques are used there and which developments this type of attraction has undergone and will undergo in the future.
