Description
VDL Containersystemen is part of the VDL Groep. The company develops, manufactures and sells hooklift, skip loader, cable and chain systems and related products such as container trailers and containers for trucks, trailers and agricultural vehicles . The market segments include waste collection, transport, construction and scrap industry, agriculture, defence, municipal and government.
For container handling, spreaders are made for ports, container handling companies and rail terminals.
In addition, they developed fully automatically steered vehicles (AGV) for container transport in port terminals or container warehouses. This vehicle can handle 70 tonnes of weight and moves at a maximum speed of 6 m/s.
They are also working on special projects such as e.g. the New York Wheel and the waste bike.
At VDL you will get a guided tour of the welding robots, hydraulics hall and assembly department, where work is done with sustainable production resources and according to the LEAN method.
