Case study: NS company visit - Train modernisation Haarlem

NS aims to modernise its trains 99% circularly. During this workshop at Train Modernisation, we will work to find a solution for one of the parts for which there is no solution yet: the sidewall panels, made of thermoset composites. These panels are light, strong and form as desired, but their specific shapes and strength make them difficult to reuse and almost impossible to recycle.

Challenge:

Come up with one solution per theme (blue, yellow and grey) in the R-ladder and sell it to NS. We will try to find three types of solutions:

1. Redundancy

2. Life extension

3. Recycling

From the A9 follow the A200 which then becomes the N200. Turn left onto the former Oudeweg and the destination is on the left.
