The three contenders for the Prins Friso Ingenieursprijs 2023 have been announced.
They are Kerusha Lutchmiah, sewage water specialist at engineering firm Royal HaskoningDHV, Simone de Rijke, engineering works consultant at engineering firm Antea Group, and Jacquelien Scherpen, professor and director of the Groningen Engineering Centre at the University of Groningen. The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) revealed the names of the finalists on Tuesday.
The winner will be announced on Wednesday 15 March at the Day of the Engineer. 'The three finalists are all top engineers,' said KIVI director Miguel Delcour. 'That all three are women does not surprise me. Engineering has not been a man's world for a long time.'
Apart from a jury prize, there will also be a public award. For this, everyone can vote for their favourite finalist. From Tuesday 14 February, the portraits of the three finalists will be on www.kivi.nl/dagvandeingenieur and the public voting will start. The ballot boxes will be open until Monday 13 March.
Also cast your vote via the KIVI website!
