Description

The KIVI Nuclear Engineering Board, in cooperation with the NNS and Kernvisie, invite you to an excursion to the former Mülheim-Kärlich (MüK) nuclear power plant, near Koblenz. The excursion consists of a guided tour of the project and a mini-symposium on the decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

As a participant, you will leave for Koblenz by VIP bus on Thursday afternoon 18 May, departing from boarding points in Almelo (14:00), Arnhem (15:00) and
possibly Eindhoven.
We will stay at Ghotel Koblenz where we will have a 3-course dinner in the evening and a breakfast buffet in the morning.

The following presentations will be prepared (in English):

- Decommissioning in Germany in general and project MüK more specific, Thomas
Volmar, Site manager MüK.
- Detailed decommissiong project 'Cooling Tower MüK', Project lead of this project
- Overview implications of the German Radiation Protection regulations on
decommissioning, including radwaste storage politics.

The tour will take place in small groups. Due to the limited number of guides, a maximum of 25 people can participate in this tour. The own contribution for members of KIVI/NNS/Kernvisie and partners is €98 per person. The contribution for non-members is €214 per person. It is worth mentioning here that membership of NNS is € 15 per
year and of KIVI € 137.50 per year.

You must bring a valid passport and provide your personal details in advance.

The following is included in the package:
- Travel by VIP bus
- 3-course dinner on the day of arrival, excluding refreshments
- Breakfast buffet
- Overnight stay at Ghotel Koblenz 3-star
- Lunch and coffee at the MüK nuclear power plant
- Return trip. Expected home time is for Eindhoven at, Arnhem 19:30 and Almelo 20:30.

The limited number of places available will be allocated based on time of registration. Members hereby take precedence over non-members. So register on time!

There is no discount if participants do not make full use of all parts of the package. Payment must be made in advance.
