Objective and role
Offshore Engineering (OT) is the professional department of KIVI with a strong orientation towards developments in the offshore industry. The department aims to "promote at a high level the professional knowledge of and mutual contacts between engineers with affinity to the offshore industry". As such, the department has played an important role in the development of the offshore industry in the Netherlands.
Membership and interest
The section currently has over 1,100 members and boasts good interest in its organised activities: usually 50-100 visitors per meeting.
Activities
The department supports the pursuit of informal contacts between its members and other interested parties, regardless of their business or background. Some nine lecture evenings are organised annually from September to May, responding to current events as much as possible.
