Description

This year's theme is "Dutch Offshore Technology" which addresses the innovative strength and position in the world of the Dutch offshore sector. What does the Netherlands currently mean in the world? What are the developments in the future and how can education and companies respond? The morning of the conference will focus on "vision for the future" with plenary lectures, while the afternoon will focus on "how are we working on our future today" with a range of parallel lectures: companies and institutions will showcase their latest innovations and give a glimpse of career opportunities.

Why, again, an offshore conference in 's-Hertogenbosch?
The annual KIVI NIRIA-Avans offshore conference in 's-Hertogenbosch is now entering its fourth year. The main reason for holding this conference at Avans University of Applied Sciences in 's-Hertogenbosch is the university's Offshore Technology activities. Since September 2008, around 60 students have started a yearly final HBO Offshore Engineering course:

"Minor Offshore Engineering"
More than 20 companies participate in this course. They give all lectures, provide guest lectures, lead excursions and supervise practical projects carried out by the students. Lecturers of Avans Hogeschool take care of the organisation and coordinate coherence and balanced depth of the programme. Furthermore, they are ultimately responsible for assessing the students and provide didactic support. This formula of learning, in direct contact with business, has proved a great success with companies, students and teachers alike. The students actively participate during the conference
