Journal of Philosophy

Philosophy: a widely accessible journal

Philosophy magazine is a bimonthly Dutch-Flemish journal published by Garant Publishers on behalf of the Stichting Informatie Filosofie. For over twenty years, the magazine has targeted a broad philosophically interested audience with generally accessible philosophical contributions. Founder and editor-in-chief is Drs Harry Willemsen.

Philosophy and Technology section

In the journal Philosophy, ir. Drs. H.W.H. Haaksma, until his death, maintained a section Philosophy and Technology on behalf of the F&T Department. With effect from the March 2010 issue, this section was reinstated. However, the editors broadened the name, and thus the objective, of the section to 'Philosophy of Technology and ICT'.

Responsible editor: Dr R.J.C.M. Starmans

Responsibility for this new section lies with Dr R.J.C.M.Starmans. He is attached to the Faculty of Beta Sciences at Utrecht University and is engaged in Philosophy and Foundations of the Exact Sciences and Engineering, more specifically the Philosophy of Computer Science and Statistics. For inquiries, announcements of activities, book reviews or other matters relating to this section, contact starmans@cs.uu.nl.

Collaboration with Philosophy & Technology (F&T) department

The board of the F&T department very much welcomes the restoration of the section and cooperation, given the common interest in drawing attention to 'Philosophy of Engineering'.
