In early 2018, the board of KIVI's Sustainable Technology department drew up a multi-year programme of presentations and company visits related to wind energy together with Rijkswaterstaat. The programme runs from 2018 to 2022.

The common thread of the multiannual wind energy programme is the development, design, engineering, construction , commissioning and operation of the wind turbines of Windpark Borssele. 2 meetings are planned annually. In 2018, there have already been 2 successful meetings. In this theme series, a company visit to SIF the manufacturer of the steel foundations for these wind turbines fits in. The manufacturer SIF Netherlands BV at Maasvlakte 2 would like to receive us; to be our host.

Sif is the market leader in manufacturing steel foundations for the Offshore wind industry. Since the year 2000, Sif has been involved in most of the Offshore wind farms in Western European waters. The foundation piles produced by Sif range from a diameter of 1,500 mm to as much as 11,000 MM with weights reaching up to approximately 2,000 Tons per pile.

In addition to a general company presentation, there will be a tour of the assembly plant. In addition, you will be able to take a look at our coating facility. And finally, we will be able to see the Sif port facilities and the deep-sea quay.

The programme is as follows:

Safety: For the tour of the company, long trousers, long sleeves and sturdy shoes are mandatory. In addition, the company provides additional personal protective equipment. This requires us to know your shoe size.
