Avri solar farm, on old landfill site

- WALKING AMONG 34,000 SOLAR PANELS -

With the construction of the solar park, the old waste dump on the A15 motorway has a new and sustainable destination for the future. With an area of 12 hectares, the solar park is the largest in Gelderland. It is also one of the larger solar parks nationwide. The more than 34,000 solar panels together generate a capacity of 9.3 MWp. This is enough to power around 3,000 households. The solar park thus makes an important contribution to the production of clean and renewable energy in Rivierenland and to reducing CO2 emissions.
The park was commissioned by Avri Solar B.V. and constructed by the construction combination Solarfields / ib Vogt. Triodos Groenfonds and the Innovation and Energy Fund Gelderland (managed by Oost NL) financed the project. Qing Sustainable advised Avri throughout the process.

Crowdfunding creates a unique opportunity for residents in the region (the 8 Avri municipalities) to participate directly in the solar farm.

\

Among the 340 investors are as many as 250 residents from the 8 Avri municipalities. Residents were able to invest in the sustainable park on a priority basis to share in the returns. In order to give as many residents as possible the opportunity to participate, investments were possible from as little as € 250. The amount raised through crowdfunding was used to repay the loan for the solar farm from the Innovation and Energy Fund Gelderland in an accelerated manner.
Avri Solar is an independent company. No funds from Avri were used for the construction of the solar farm.
