Aluminium chain sustainability

Invitation to attend the Aluminium Chain Sustainability Lecture at Avans University of Applied Sciences, organised by KIVI departments of Sustainable Technology and Mechanical Engineering and Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda:
Sustainability does not come naturally; it is a dynamic, multidisciplinary and continuous process in the aluminium chain.
Description:
Based on developments in the aluminium chain, it will be demonstrated how aluminium has acquired an increasingly better sustainability profile.
Developments in the extraction of raw materials, raw material and energy use, emissions, soil management and waste streams will be presented. External stakeholders, safety and working conditions, employee development and organisation are also discussed.
Developments in the coming decades, linear and circular economy, cradle to cradle, CO2 and climate are also discussed.
Finally, we indicate what is involved in further sustainability and what this means for students.
Apart from students, we also invite members of the Sustainable Technology department. This will allow students and KIVI members to meet and exchange views on sustainability, climate and circular economy, based on the presentation.
Food and drink:
From 17.00 to 18.15, a simple meal can be consumed in the canteen for a fee. This is in the same building where the lecture is given.
Parking:
This can be done in the vicinity of the same building on Hogeschoollaan 1.
Cost:
No exceptions for the meal if you wish to use it.

André P.G. Dijkmans, expert on the whole spectrum of working conditions, environment, energy and sustainability at Pechiney Nederland / Zalco producer of primary aluminium in Vlissingen until his retirement, will deliver this (interactive) lecture. He has 35 years of experience in the aluminium industry. In addition, he held positions in industrial sector organisations and external training courses closely related to this.
