Tidal Technology Centre Grevelingendam
During the Meet & Greet of the Sustainable Technology department on 19 February 2019, Mr Menno Broers gave a good and interesting presentation entitled "Project sustainability at the Grevelingendam" The innovation offers not only direct sustainability but also a contribution to indirect sustainability for carrying out measurements, tests and studies in a practical situation. He then invited us for a site visit to the works.
Thus, after its completion in 2019, the Tidal Technology Centre Grevelingendam (TTC-GD) will offer suppliers of technology in tidal energy the opportunity to test, certify, validate and demonstrate their products in a fully 'live' tidal environment. TTC-GD will also provide for the demonstration of 4 turbines with a total capacity between 0.5 and 1.0 MWe of energy.
In preparation, please refer to the website https://www.bt-projects.com/portfolio-items/tidal-technology-center-grevelingendam/
Both design, construction and operation of this innovative infrastructure offer high-quality work and can lead to spin-offs around the world. As so often, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand here: Planet - People - Profit. Mr Menno Boers will explain the project to participants and visit the work with us.
