5G Masterclass Frequency Spectrum

Another 5G Masterclass was organised on 10 January.

Taco Kluwer from Agentschap Telecom told us more about frequencies. This time, the 5G Masterclass took place at a beautiful location in Groningen city centre: The Castle.

Frequencies are an important 'raw material' for 5G. Without these frequencies, we cannot drive a connected car, stream 360-degree video or connect millions of IoT devices.

But where do these frequencies come from? What are the differences between frequencies for 4G or 5G? And why is one frequency auctioned and the other frequency (e.g. Wi-Fi) available for free use by everyone?
