We would like to invite you to the theme meeting on Tuesday 25 September on the subject of "Cloud computing". KIVI NIRIA's Telecommunications Department is organising this evening in cooperation with NERG and TMA.
Cloud computing is attracting a lot of attention, partly because organisations may be able to make substantial savings on their automation costs by applying Cloud computing. However, from all sides, people are also pointing out the limitations and risks in terms of legal aspects, application management, data ownership and security, among others. On this evening, we will discuss cloud computing from the customer's, the applicability and the supplier's point of view. There will also be an opportunity to gain experience with Cloud computing yourself during the month of September without any obligation. Therefore:

This presentation will discuss the different views of the cloud from the IT and business perspective. It also presents a model to better place the different appearances and applications of the cloud. Finally, a number of recommendations are given to successfully fit the cloud into an organisation.
19.10 am Martijn van Zoeren: Dutch Cloud: Practical approach when acquiring a Cloud infrastructure
This presentation will discuss the need to have full influence on how underlying architecture and security is ensured when acquiring a Cloud service. And what requirements can you place on a Service Provider's role?

On the basis of the Global Technology Outlook, IBM's vision on technological developments, Frank van der Wal will give a lively presentation.

Ewout will evaluate the experiences, which you have encountered when purchasing the Cloud Computing service from Dutch Cloud and explain the process.
