As a follow-up to the successful meeting during NVC 2023, CROW, KIVI and NVC will hold a discussion afternoon in Zwolle on Wednesday 29 May 2024 to exchange ideas with the professional community about the Traffic Engineer of the Future. That is, in any case, a professional who contributes to a vital Netherlands that is accessible and where it is pleasant to live.
There is no such thing as the traffic expert; the field is too multifaceted for that. Besides specialists, generalists are also needed to tackle various social issues, now and in the years to come. It is precisely in the collaborative and connecting role of traffic that the strength of a valuable and wonderful profession in diverse fields of work lies.
But what must the traffic expert generalist and specialist of the future meet? How do we ensure that every traffic expert can keep up with rapid developments? How do we keep the field attractive so that young people continue to choose the profession? Vacancies are also increasing in this field.
The challenges we face require cooperation and a joining of forces between government, industry, knowledge institutes and education. And they require action from the professional world!
