Description

Following our recent visit to the world's largest crane ship, the "Thialf", we now have the opportunity at Heerema Zwijndrecht to see a heavy structure that can be placed by such a large crane ship!
Heerema Zwijndrecht is one of the leading Dutch manufacturers of heavy structures for the offshore oil and gas and onshore petrochemical industries.
The company's supply programme moves from complete offshore platforms to pre-assembled process units and pipeline systems for the onshore industry.
During the last 40 years, Heerema Zwijndrecht has delivered hundreds of offshore structures with a total mass of more than 550,000 tonnes.
The yard at Zwijndrecht has an area of 146,000 m² and includes, among other things, a 680 m long quay for loadings up to 15,000 tonnes, large manufacturing and assembly halls, and workshops for piping, electrical engineering, non-destructive testing and corrosion protection.
Heerema Zwijndrecht is currently working on the largest offshore deck ever built in the Netherlands, the 11,000-tonne Valhall Re-Development Integrated Production & Hotel Facility deck for BP Norge.
The deck is in the completion phase at the shipyard and Heerema Zwijndrecht has given us the opportunity to learn about this impressive project and see its many special features up close
