Description

The theme of this symposium, organised by TU Delft's Dispuut Transportkunde, is 'Is bigger better?'.

This may include the current trend towards ever-larger operations in the transport sector, such as the ever-increasing size of container ships, aircraft, as well as more and more asphalt. This brings the necessary challenges in terms of logistics, organisation and design of turning points such as ports and airports, technology and legislation, among others.

It also leads to considerations such as how this trend relates to the trend that consumers increasingly want more flexible and faster delivery times, more personally tailored products and services.
Also, logistics systems are becoming increasingly complex due to (large-scale) cooperation and globalisation. These diverse but related topics and challenges will be highlighted during the symposium

During the day, lectures and workshops will be held by ECT, Royal Haskoning, Mckinsey, SBM/Dockwise, Port of Rotterdam, Ministry of Defence and Air Cargo Netherlands, among others. In addition, a business market, lunch and drinks will be offered.

You will find the programme on the symposium website. When registering, you can indicate which lectures you would like to attend. Unfortunately, the workshops are already full.
