ALV + Open Lectures / ITA discussion evening
Description
As a start, the Annual General Meeting of Members will take place. There will then be a simple bread meal, followed by a number of interesting substantive lectures again this year, followed by opportunities for discussion, this year's topics are geographically spread from The Hague to Hong Kong:
Before the break, first an update on the state of affairs at the ITA (International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association):
- An introduction by Johan Bosch on the General assembly during the ITA WTC congress.
- Eelco van Putten with an overview of the activities of the ITA Working Group on Sinking Tunnels (WG11) such as projects discussed, the Owner's Guide currently being prepared and the Environmental Paper produced last year.
Then a lecture by Frank van der Heijden on the Tournooiveld car park in The Hague, a development by Dura Vermeer and SENS real estate. The development process of this 3-layer garage that will provide space for 320 cars will be discussed, as well as the engineering of its construction in a vulnerable environment with surrounding historic buildings and monumental trees.
After the break, two major foreign tunnel projects will be discussed:
- Bard Louis on the Marieholm tunnel, an immersed bank connection in the Swedish city of Gothenburg that is currently under construction. The immersion takes place under very challenging conditions with a special soil structure with a clay layer up to 80 metres thick. Perhaps the reason why several Dutch parties are involved in this project. MH Poly created the immersion design for the Zueblin-Boskalis combination and would like to share its special details with you.
- Hans de Wit of TEC on the HZMB China, the challenges in the design and execution of the world's longest immersed road tunnel, between Hong Kong and China. Topics will include the development of a new longitudinal model for the immersed tunnel, ground improvement and observed settlements, production of the tunnel elements and experiences in immersion under offshore conditions.
When registering, please indicate separately whether you will participate in just the lecture evening, or also in the members' meeting and the sandwich meal.
