Description

KIVI TTOW, together with the CDE, has managed to organise a fun and educational project marathon for you. On Wednesday 7 October next, you can travel with us to North Holland.

We will visit the following projects:

Velser Tunnel
The Velser Tunnel will undergo a major renovation in 2016. The clearance height will be increased by 12 centimetres: this way trucks are less likely to cause damage and there will be less disruption on the road. Tunnel technical installations, such as ventilation, the fire extinguishing system and the waste water drainage system, will be thoroughly modernised or completely replaced. There will be new escape routes, allowing people to escape to the other tunnel tube, and escape doors will be spaced at shorter distances. The road surface in the tunnel will get new asphalt.

New University Building VU
The New University Building will be the beating heart of the VU campus in Amsterdam. It will feature spaces for education, research and culture. The project also includes the three-level underground parking garage Campusplein. The eastern part of the car park will accommodate the New University Building, while the western part will accommodate the Alliantie building to be built later.

Spaarndammertunnel
The Spaarndammertunnel is an important link in Amsterdam between the Spaarndammer neighbourhood and the future residential area in Houthaven. Through traffic will be separated from neighbourhood traffic and routed underground. A park the size of four football pitches will be built on top of the tunnel.

IMPORTANT: Safety clothing (helmet, vest and steel-toed shoes) is compulsory on all tours. Unlike other years, these are not available on site. You must provide it yourself. Without safety clothing, you will unfortunately not be admitted.

Please note that only 40 people can participate in the Projects Marathon and full=full.
