Description
DAF Trucks N.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of US-based PACCAR Inc. With its core activities, DAF Trucks N.V. concentrates on the development, production, marketing, sales and service of medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
Another core activity focuses on the marketing, sales and service of light commercial vehicles produced at Leyland Trucks Ltd. in the United Kingdom, also a wholly-owned subsidiary of PACCAR. DAF Trucks also supplies components such as axles, engines and cabs to third parties for application in buses and special vehicles, among others.
DAF works according to the 'built to order' principle. This means that production of a truck only starts after an order from a customer. Very important, as DAF builds tens of thousands of specification variants and each truck is tailored in detail to the customer's specific transport needs.
The customer is number one. Low costs per kilometre, a high level of quality, driver comfort, low fuel consumption, minimal environmental impact and high transport efficiency are the guiding principles.
DAF Trucks N.V. has production facilities in Eindhoven (NL) and Westerlo (B). DAF's own Design Center is also located in Eindhoven. It is responsible for the modern styling of the entire DAF programme. Thanks to its high efficiency, short lines of communication, but above all its dedication to nothing but trucks, the company occupies a very competitive position on the European market.
