Information meetingNew battery regulation

Tuesday 1 July 2025 14:00 - 16:30
Van der Valk Hotel, Breukelen

The new EU Battery Regulation will change the rules for managing discarded batteries from 18 August 2025.
ARN and RAI Association will inform you about this at a meeting with explanatory notes and break-out sessions.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and Rijkswaterstaat Leefomgeving will explain the main points during this meeting.

New rules for batteries in 2025

The new European Battery Regulation impacts the whole chain from design to recycling. New rules on the management of waste batteries will apply from 18 August 2025.

Importers must, in order to maintain access to the market, submit a registration and approval request to Rijkswaterstaat Leefomgeving before that date. ARN submits two notifications on behalf of participating importers on time. This will ensure that participants' legal obligations for managing waste batteries are met and that they retain access to the market.

To inform interested parties about the implications of the regulation, ARN and RAI Association are organising a joint information meeting in Breukelen on Tuesday 1 July. Among others, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and Rijkswaterstaat Leefomgeving will explain the main points during this meeting. There will also be break-out sessions focusing on EV, LMT and SLI batteries.
