Description

2007 marked the 100th anniversary of VDL Berkhof in Heerenveen. In its history, the company has focused entirely on building buses for public transport. The Ambassador models are built in large numbers for the Dutch market. So successful that these buses are now also exported outside the Netherlands to countries including Germany, Denmark and Israel. VDL Berkhof is currently busy building 522 buses for Dubai. These have a number of specific technical modifications not found on Dutch buses, such as an air curtain that allows the boarding passenger to go from 40 deg outside temperature to 20 deg cooled bus temperature. During the company visit, we will learn about the latest gadgets in bus technology and how modern buses are built.
