Sabine Batenburg is a civil engineer working as a geotechnical consultant. Within KIVI, she has long been active on the board of Young KIVI Engineers (YKE), where she is committed to connecting young engineers and sharing knowledge within the profession.

As of 9 July 2025, Sabine has been appointed president of the Network of Women Engineers (NVI). From this role, she aims to contribute to the visibility and position of female engineers within KIVI and beyond. With her enthusiasm, organisational talent and strong focus on cooperation, she brings a valuable impetus to the development of the network.

In her daily work, Sabine focuses on geotechnical issues and the application of digital tools and AI to solve complex challenges around water and subsoil more efficiently and smartly. In this way, she combines her technical expertise with a broad social commitment.
