8 Years of experience with a passive house
Description
If you are interested in the experiences of an occupant of a highly energy-efficient house, a so-called passive house, then this excursion is definitely of interest to you. We will visit the home of Mr Francois Höppener, who started building a very low-energy house in 2006. This house was completed in 2007, so that it has now been lived in comfortably for more than eight years.
Fr. Höppener will tell us about his experiences during the construction of this house and the selection of building materials as well as the various energy-saving measures and methods for generating energy himself or even recovering heat.
All these techniques are applied in the house.
In addition, he will also show which specific building materials and techniques are used in the house. You can see what is already possible with the special design of the walls and insulation, the specially designed windows, a heat pump, balanced ventilation and a large number of PV solar panels on the roof. Only in cold weather without sunshine is the supplementary heating of the house with a wood pellet stove still necessary.
Fr. Höppener is now, of course, an expert by experience par excellence and will therefore feel free to ask you your questions about the use of and experiences with these technologies over the past eight years.
Finally, you will get an answer to our pre-formulated KIVI question: what would you have done differently in the year 2016 compared to the construction in the years 2006 and 2007?
This excursion is also highly recommended for our young (aspiring) KIVI members, who are orientating themselves on the housing market.
After the visit to the house, there will be an opportunity for those interested to talk and network in a café in the city centre of Sittard.
