On Thursday afternoon, 16 April, we will meet the EdeA organisation at the Chemelot site and visit the largest plant for the production of both high-pressure steam and electricity: the Swentibold combined heat and power plant on the Chemelot site.

EdeA
EdeA is a general partnership in which Essent and DSM each participate for 50%.
EdeA supplies DSM, SABIC, OCI, Lanxess and other customers on the Chemelot industrial park in Geleen with high-quality utilities at unimprovable costs. The products that EdeA supplies are steam, electricity, compressed air, measuring air, nitrogen, canal and fire water, demineralised water and condensate, drinking water, caustic soda and natural gas.

Production
Annually, EdeA sells approximately EUR 250 million worth of utilities at Chemelot. EdeA's production park consists of steam boilers, nitrogen compressors, compressed air compressors, an emergency measuring air compressor, two demineralised water plants, a flocculator and several high-voltage distribution stations. In addition, EdeA is responsible for the operation of Essent Productie Geleen's modern Swentibold cogeneration plant (EPG) with a gas and steam turbine and two off-gas boilers.
The plants make use of state-of-the-art technologies, achieving maximum energy efficiency and low emissions and chemical consumption.

A maximum of 25 people can participate in this excursion on the company premises.
