Objectives of the Buitenring Parkstad Limburg

The Buitenring Parkstad Limburg has a clear objective: to ensure that accessibility to and within the Parkstad region is greatly improved. The Outer Ring provides smooth connections between municipalities in the region and good links to national and international roads. In the process, existing roads leading through residential areas are relieved. This is good for the quality of life. Moreover, the new road offers plenty of opportunities for economic and tourist development and improves traffic safety in the area.

Sub-project Turbo interchange near Nuth

The connection of the A76 to the Buitenring in Nuth is an important junction. This connection ensures that traffic from outside Parkstad can quickly and easily reach the other Parkstad municipalities from the motorway. This junction becomes, as it were, 'the gateway to Parkstad'. A turbo interchange has been chosen as the connection form here. Traffic heading for Heerlen continues on the A76 under the turbo plaza. Traffic heading in a different direction selects a lane to the turbo plaza located six metres above the A76. Before and on the roundabout, we provide good and timely signage. On and prior to the roundabout, traffic lights ensure fast traffic flow.

Visit to the Nuth roundabout

The construction of the Turboverkeersplein near Nuth is nearing completion and forms the final part of the multi-year project of the Buitenring Parkstad. On this evening, KIVI members will be able to visit the construction site of this Turboverkeersplein. Mr Marco Luijten, Project Manager and Mr Mat Snijders, Environment Manager will be present to explain the project in more detail and answer questions. Please think of suitable shoes for entering the construction site.

Parking
On 15 May 2019, parking will be available at the following locations:
- Safety Centre, Industriestraat 6 , 6361 HD in Nuth;
- Firma Henssen Redding, Nutherweg 60 6365 ER, Schinnen
Traffic controllers will be present that evening to show the way.

Gathering point at 19.00 is: entrance construction site near Katoen Natie , ask the traffic controllers. Present from KIVI RLZ: Leo Derks and Dieudonnee Cobben.

The maximum number of participants in this KIVI tour is 20 people and is therefore only open to KIVI members.
