Is nitrogen harmful to nature and us (cancelled)
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this activity.
WEBINAR: Is nitrogen harmful to nature and us on Monday 2 November 2020
Speaker: Arnold van den Burg
If too much reactive nitrogen enters nature, the soil becomes acidic. Certain plants cannot stand that and they die. It is also the case that rarer plant species, such as heather, have a hard time. This results in a monoculture of plants. Too much of the same. Some nature reserves can change completely as a result. Because with the rare plants, animals that live off them also disappear, such as bees and insects, which in turn are important for the pollination of our crops and food production.
