On Monday 3 November Roel Bleumer will be a guest at our Networking Café.

Roel, together with his brother Luc Bleumer co-founder of Volta Energy, developer and builder of sustainable mobile energy solutions, including hybrid solar generators that replace diesel generators. The systems combine solar panels, smart power control and advanced power electronics to provide reliable off-grid power.

Roel gives a behind-the-scenes look at their technology and practical experiences. He discusses design choices such as battery management, inverter technology, the power balance between solar and back-up generators, and the control technology needed to operate robustly and efficiently in the field. The technical "fuck-ups" made along the way - from power management to reliability and maintenance - are also covered in detail.
