Description

There are many concepts in circulation that can be exploited to initiate improvement processes in organisations. Consultants promise a lot in this and every concept is said to be the egg of Columbus. Can we also look at the underlying mechanisms, which strongly influence the effectiveness of an organisation? In that case, it is fundamentally about influencing people's behaviour and learning to drive and secure improvements as an organisation. A good translation of strategic plan to daily management at every level and then translation of that management to tailor-made improvement actions around processes and people is part of this. The approach that this combination can offer is inevitably effective. However, part of this approach is understanding that most people learn by doing and then gaining insight, not by being handed all kinds of insights, which they are then expected to translate into daily actions. Seems logical, but most change processes start from a different basic philosophy. This involves a lot of training and "modelling" of people.

Organising a learning process in which daily control systems are put in place at every level, then employees are brought "into their role" and improvement actions are then deployed, in a structured way, around processes and individuals, has proven effective in practice. Especially if this learning process is ingrained for a long time and facilitated internally and externally. It then leads to a new routine, which makes sense to everyone. This also secures the safeguarding of working differently.

This meeting seeks discussion with the participants using an example of this approach. Translation of this approach to the participants' own practice will then be driven during the meeting
