The OV chipkaart has been introduced in the Netherlands by all public transport operators since 2000. The initial planning is not met and the operation is not always optimal. What are the issues surrounding introduction that make it difficult? KIVI NIRIA is hosting a lecture by InTraffic on the issues involved in introducing this multimodal, carrier-transcending means of payment. InTraffic has guided and supervised the introduction of the OV chip card at several carriers including Arriva, Veolia and NS. The testing process (including the role of TransLinkSystems (TLS), functionality, technology and the Dutch organisation around the OV chip card will be discussed
