Description
The presentation will cover how solar panels work, and the different types of solar panels and inverters. The different types of warranties for panels and inverters will be discussed. Practical examples will be used to discuss the various mounting options for solar panels, on the different types of pitched roofs and flat roofs. The latest trend will also be discussed: solar panels integrated into the roof or facade.
It will be explained how to estimate the power yield of a PV system using rules of thumb, including shade losses. The existing (and expected new) Dutch legislation surrounding the generation and feed-in of solar power to the grid is discussed. Sample calculations of the financial returns and payback periods of a PV system will be shown.
