Visit University Museum Utrecht
Look over the shoulder of scientists past and present. Paul Voogt (Director) uses the exhibitions to show the collection and how the museum interactively introduces visitors to science. He tells more about the museum's ambitions to become a true research museum. The University Museum makes science understandable to a wide audience. In this interactive museum, visitors explore together and discover the scientist in themselves.
Look over the shoulder of scientists past and present.
Visitors are invited to look over the shoulders of scientists of the past and present. There is much to see and do in the museum. Stuffed animals and skeletons, organs on strong water and a real particle accelerator, are interspersed with current science. Behind the museum is the former botanical garden the Old Hortus, which is a surprisingly green place in the middle of the city. You will find exotic trees and plants, such as the 280-year-old Gingko biloba.
During our visit, we are introduced to the museum and its future plans. Using the exhibitions, Paul Voogt, Director of the museum, will show you the collection and how the museum interactively introduces visitors to science. He will also tell you more about the museum's ambitions to become a real research museum. See also www.universiteitsmuseum.nl.
Major renovation plans are planned, for instance. Paul Voogt tells us all about it today.
