Family Day Selfkant
Description
On Sunday 1 June, we have planned a family outing just across the border in the area known in the region as the Selfkant.
We will gather from 11.00 am at the Selfkantbahn station in Schierwaldenrath. We will then take a ride on the nostalgic steam train to Geilenkirchen-Gillrath and back. We will then have lunch in the adjacent "restaurant zur Selfkantbahn". There we will have soup and fries with Schnitzel (children's menu Frikandel)including 2 drinks.
After noon we will go to the Wilpark Gangelt. The Wildpark Gangelt offers its visitors a representative choice of European animals in a natural environment. In this beautiful animal park, animals stay in a natural environment. In company or on your own, you can take a brisk walk past the various animals in this park.
If you plan your walk so that you are back near the entrance at 16.00, you can watch the birds of prey show there.
For our excursions, we assume that participants have health, accident and travel insurance, if necessary, and accept no liability in connection with this activity.
11.00 a.m. Gather at Schierwaldenrath Station
11.15 a.m. Departure steam train to Gillrath (arrival 11.40 a.m.)
12.00 p.m. Departure back from Gillrath
12.45 p.m. Lunch at Restaurant zur Selfkantbahn
14.00 p.m. Followed by car to Wildpark Gangelt
16.00 p.m. Birds of prey show
17.00 p.m. End of excursion
